The invoice wasn't sent till after the performance would of been good if it had of been sent before hand

The pacing felt a little slow at times and two hours is a long time. Around the 1hr 30min mark, students began to get restless. There was a lot of content covered in the 2 hours. the actors were good, upbeat and handled the students well if they were chatting or otherwise needed their attention reigned in. Sometime difficult to hear, but that's probably because the hall is large. The song at the end was a highlight, kids loved that in particular.

Actors did a good job of stopping and redirecting when there were some chatty kids. Quick stop, told them to hush in character, then continued. Kids had fun with the roles they were able to play and the group song.

Pre-planning roles of students works well. ...Also small random pullouts...lots of opportunities to particiapate

The students enjoyed Lucky the miner, to the bushranger to the sergeant. The show moved well in story line. Much was covered!

As a school we will book this and their other shows in a 3 year cycle. First the Colonial Show, then the Gold Show and the Anzac Story in the 3rd year.

The administration of Iconic and the actors need to communicate the exact address of their performance. This is the second year in a row that the actors went to the wrong venue.

Props were great! An interesting presentation of lots of historical information. A highly entertaining performance which involves the students and encouraging them to think about life on the gold fields.

The fact that the students were involved adn questioned along the way was a great bonus. It gave the teachers an opportunity to gauge just how much they had learnt throughout the unit. The Gold Show is a great resource to encourage, stimulate develop or enhance learning in the specific area.

The play actingby the actors and the role-playing the children got to participate in was the best part of this show. There was a little sitting down at times, but very entertaining.

Great, exciting, funny, brilliant

The students loved Bluey / Sargeant. He had a strong, loud voice, was funny and always in character. Children could really relate to him. If there is anything I would ask for the show to improve on it is JUST MORE OF IT.

The hands on, student particpation element is really important. You did this well. The male performer was brilliant. The kids asked lots of questions at the end of the show and he was happy to share his knowledge. The Police Academy (soldier recruitment) scene was particluarly hilarious! The show was fabulous. The actors were fantastic! Thanks for coming all the way to Canberra!

There was good involvement but they could have been doing a little more. Some students really enjoyed it and were able to use this information to put their gold rush speech together.

It was great when the children got to become the band.

Of a high standard most of the time

It was great to enable the student to participate in the Gold Rush experience. The students enjoyed the opportunities to be part of the production. They learnt stuff today! They didn't realise that the show was about real times and thought it was just a play.

We were very impressed with the professionalism and quality of the entertainment. Every minute was filled with something to watch or listen to and all the kids participated in every aspect of the day.

The students enjoyed the lashing. More students could have been involved. Perhaps more hands on activities. The students enjoyed the characters. They commented that through drama they learned about life on the goldfields.

Very interactive

This was a very interactive – hands on and frequently involved large number of students rotating in three groups.

The actor who played Bluey was particularly funny and engaging. The students responded really well to his enthusiasm and willingness to act silly for his character. The actors stayed in character from the first greetings with the students. They presented curriculum information in an engaging way with well thought out props. The information pack for teachers was sent a bit late to be useful. It meant that choosing students for roles and sharing the songs with the students before the show was very rushed.

I liked how real it was and how the students got to experience the equipment that was used on the goldfields and also all the different aspects of the Australian Goldrush like, the women, the chinese, why gold was valuable, the bushrangers, the Eureka Stockade.

The year 5's thought it was hilarious when their peers were acting, especially when they were trying to be soldiers and march in time. The year 5's also found it funny when their peers acted out being bushrangers.

Very enjoyable

Children commented that they really enjoyed the humour. Court hearing was fabulous, wonderful props and costumes.

The performance gave the children a real 'hands on' experience we could not give them inside the regular classroom. We will certainly look into booking the performance again in 2014!

"Lucky" was fantastic - excellent rapport with students, great use of humour and outstanding knowledge of subject area. The children loved getting involved in the performance! Many commented on how funny and entertaining Lucky was. Lucky really carried the show!
